University of Wisconsin River Falls
Website Redesign
UW-River Falls partnered with KW2 to redesign their prospective student website and establish a new subdomain for current students. This redesign demonstrates the everyday falcon experience and the value of UW-River Falls. Additionally, the websites are streamlined to serve only their respective audience while providing a unified feel through a strong design system.
My Role in The Project
Phase one incorporated a content audit and several discovery meetings with key stakeholders. We started by auditing the previous website and conducting discovery meetings with their marketing, recruitment, and programming teams. Following these meetings, we created a discovery key findings document that established the fundamental goals for these new websites.
In Phase two, we started by creating three personas to understand the different target audiences. Next, we developed journey maps to gain insight into the application process for the different target audiences. After gleaning insight into these user journeys, we constructed the information architecture and content strategy for both new websites.
In phase three, we started by designing wireframes based on the information architecture and content strategy established in phase two. Upon approval, the UX team collaborated with our graphic designer to develop the look and feel of these new websites. Lastly, we packaged and sent all the design assets along with a detailed style guide explaining how to use these elements cohesively.
